Riverside Camping
Tents on the riverbank at Dawki on the Exquisite Meghalaya group trip, with boating on the clear Umngot at your door.
Curated boutique expeditions, luxury camping, and offbeat odysseys across the wild heart of North-East India and beyond.
Group departures and private trips across three states. Partnered stays, village homestays and riverside camps, with every detail planned person to person by Himanshu.
Eight states, hundreds of communities, and landscapes most travellers have only seen on a screen. Here is what you won't find anywhere else in the country.
A high-altitude lake that freezes over in winter, on the road to Tawang's 17th-century monastery.
Meghalaya holds India's longest known cave system. Go underground in Krem Chympe on the Offbeat Meghalaya trip.
Grown, not built, by Khasi and Jaintia communities from rubber-fig roots over generations. On UNESCO's tentative list since 2022.
Snowbound in winter, and the gateway to Anini and the Mishmi villages near India's eastern frontier.
No queues at the viewpoint. No traffic on the pass. Just you, and the trail.
Riverside camps, homestays and hill lodges, chosen for the view outside and the comfort inside. Hot water, real beds and food cooked by the family next door.

Village homestays beside the root bridges, hostels in the hills and a campsite in Nongblai on the offbeat route.
Partnered bamboo-and-timber lodges in the Mizo hills, with forest views, a warm dining hall and evenings by the garden pool.
Stays are partnered properties. Room sharing varies by trip (double, triple or four sharing); details come with your quote.

Himanshu plans every route himself, and he has walked most of them more than once. Tap play to say hello.
He knows which homestay in Nongriat makes the best breakfast, when the Sela road ices over, and where the Umngot runs clearest. That local knowledge is what turns a holiday into an expedition.
That's what person-to-person means here. You plan directly with Himanshu, from the first WhatsApp message to the drive home. No call centres, no handovers, no copy-paste packages.

Most trips start in Guwahati (GAU), with direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. The Anini trip starts in Dibrugarh (DIB), and the Mizoram trip in Aizawl (AJL).
Indian citizens need an Inner Line Permit for Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. ILPs are included on both Arunachal trips, and we guide you through Mizoram's. Foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit for Arunachal and must register on arrival in Mizoram. Rules change, so we confirm everything when you book. Meghalaya needs no permit.
Yes. The regions we operate in are calm, welcoming and well used to visitors. Every stay, driver and local guide is personally vetted, and you have a direct line to Himanshu throughout. High-altitude trips carry oxygen and a first-aid kit.
Each trip has a difficulty rating from 1 to 5. 1–2 means easy walks anyone can enjoy. 3 means some long days and steep steps, like the long stairway down to Nongriat. 4–5 means multi-day trekking at altitude. We'll tell you honestly which trip suits you.
October to April suits most routes. Monsoon (June–September) is spectacular for Meghalaya's waterfalls but slows mountain roads. Kaziranga (the Day 8 add-on) is closed from May to October. Each trip card shows its best months.
Fares depend on group size, dates and vehicle. Send an enquiry and Himanshu replies with an exact, all-inclusive quote, usually within a day.
Yes. Couples, families and friend groups can book any route as a private departure on their own dates. Corporate offsites are welcome too.
Pay a 30% advance to confirm your seats; the balance is due just before the trip starts. We accept UPI and bank transfer only, and every payment comes with a GST invoice from ADVENTURES WITH HIMANSHU.
Please send cancellations in writing on WhatsApp or email. Refunds depend on how close to departure you cancel:
| 30 days or more before departure | Full advance, minus ₹2,000 per person processing fee |
| 15 to 29 days before | 50% of the advance |
| 7 to 14 days before | 25% of the advance |
| Less than 7 days, or no-show | No refund |
Bookings for festive-season departures are non-refundable, because stays and transport are paid for well in advance. Refunds go back to the account you paid from.
Yes, you can change your dates once, free of charge, subject to confirmation and the group size on the new departure.
Group departures run with a minimum of 6 travellers (Innova Crysta) or 10 travellers (Force Traveller). If a departure doesn't reach the minimum, you can move to another date or take a full refund of what you've paid.
Mountain weather and roads in the North-East can change quickly. If a route becomes unsafe or a permit area closes, we switch to the best safe alternative. Any extra cost, such as an added night, is discussed with you before it is spent.
Tell Himanshu where you'd like to go, or ask him to surprise you. You'll get a personal reply, not an automated one.
